Tournament Rules
Two Harbors Youth Hockey Association Tournament
Rules
All games will be played under USA Hockey rules as modified by
MN Hockey and any exceptions listed. Only USA Hockey registered
referees will be used in these tournaments. Tournaments will be
MN Hockey sanctioned.
An Emergency Medical Technician will be on duty for all games.
Two Harbors Youth Hockey Association and any affiliates assume
no liability or personal injury to any participants during the tournament.
Each team shall have a credential package consisting of birth certificates,
USA Hockey player roster form and Team membership application form
with a red insurance card and the Individual Membership Registration
(IMR) for each rostered player. The package must be available at
the arena 30 minutes prior to the first game in which you are scheduled.
Any protest of an individual player must take place before the
start of the game and presented to the tournament committee for
a ruling. The tournament committee has the final word in all disputes.
A game roster must be furnished to the scorekeeper prior to each
game. Teams must be ready to play 20 minutes prior to the scheduled
game time. Rosters will be limited to 20 players only.
There will be a five-minute warm-up prior to the beginning of each
game.
Ice will be resurfaced after every two periods.
Format will consist of a 8 team bracket. All games will consist
of three - 15 minute stop time periods. Penalties will be 2 minutes
for a minor, five minutes for a major and ten minutes for misconduct.
Five-penalty ejection rule in one game. A six goal lead during the
third period will result in running time and anytime both teams
are assessed six penalties each will also result in running time.
One time out per game. In the event of overtime – two-minute
rest period followed by a 5 minute 5 on 5 sudden death overtime.
If game remains tied there will be an immediate 5 minute 4 on 4
sudden death overtime. If the game remains tied there will be an
immediate 5 minute 3 on 3 overtime. No time outs in overtime. If
the game is still tied, we will have a shoot out until we have a
winner. No goal judges.
Referee’s decisions are final.
Locker room assignments, tournament format and MN Hockey tournaments
sanction certificate will be posted in the arena.
Teams listed on top in the draw are the home teams and should wear
light colored jerseys.
Coaches not on USA Hockey Rosters will not be allowed in the player’s
box during the game. Any injured player on the bench (whether dressed
or not) must wear a helmet with mask.
USA Hockey Officials or the Tournament Director, as applicable,
will deal with inappropriate action by any player, team official,
parent or spectator during these event. GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP IS EXPECTED
OF ALL.
The Tournament Director’s decisions will be final in any
and all matters not addressed in the preceding rules.
